How Do You Find Happiness In Life

how do you find happiness in life

Many are looking for happiness or trying to figure out what makes them happy. Below are some ideas you can use right now to increase your happiness.

What Makes You Happy?

You need to ask yourself what makes you happy?
Here are some examples off the top of my head.

  • Exciting career
  • Fantastic relationships
  • Fun entertainment
  • Awesome loving partner

Now what can you do in life to help you get closer to each of the above?

If you want develop your current existing relationships, what can you do to improve on them?

If you want to find an awesome partner, make detailed note of the type of person you want and where you would be able to find that person.

Ask yourself what makes me happy?

Be sure to take action and progress is key!

Make Progress With Anything

Making progress is huge. Progress in anything can feel like a huge accomplishment. Anything as simple as cleaning your work desk or as big as starting a business. Where ever progress is made it can increase your overall happiness.

Once you have made progress you can build momentum.

Start Building Momentum

When you make progress, as good as it may feel, the positive feelings will wear out. This will get you back to how you were feeling previously.

Instead of stopping your progress, you can build momentum to keep it going.

If you cleaned up your work desk, take it one step further and clean the entire room.

  • Dust the furniture
  • Remove unnecessary items from the room
  • Sweep or vacuum the floor

That’s one example. If you want to get in contact with old friends message one asking them how they are doing. Then contact another afterwards.

With building momentum I don’t like to go overboard. By doing too much in the same day, you will eventually reach a dead end and you won’t know what to do next. That will ruin both your momentum and happiness which can be mentally draining.

Instead.. before doing the final task I tell myself that will be all for today. That way once the final task is done I feel happy, motivated and productive. That energy then carries with me throughout the remainder of the day.

Be Happy About Everything

It’s hard to fake a smile. But it’s easy to show a genuine one.

In all aspects of life if you can be genuinely happy it will be noticeable.

Many are sad or with negative feelings and emotions. Happy people are noticeable.

Walking into the grocery store I see everyone with a straight face. Customers looking for the groceries they need and stock clerks and cashiers doing what they do. Imagine being the one who walks into the grocery store with a sly smile and doing what you need to do.

You won’t get noticed like a celebrity but every once in a while someone may notice you. It has happened to me numerous times. After doing this so much I got better at projecting better body language.

Starting out it may feel weird which may project awkward body language. But with practice it will become easier.

Happy People Get Noticed

When out in public most people look sad, tired, bored and distracted, especially when staring at their phones. Once in a while we see someone come into the area with a calm and happy presence. Each time I see this person I want to talk to them!

Few times I said to myself “I want to be friends with him!”

Something is different about them. Not often you see someone who appears naturally happy, as if they are living the perfect life.

They may be making good money, travel a lot, have many great friends and/or an amazing partner. This person may be living the perfect life!

OR this may be an ordinary person with excellent acting skills who plays the role of a happy person very well!

There were times in my life where amazing things happened and my positive emotions went through the roof. Felt very good mentally, my posture improved, my limp became almost non existent and I felt very confident. Because of this I began walking slower and a sly smile appeared on my face continuously.

The amount of attention I was getting was much higher than what I normally got.

Most people have or display the same body language. If you’re naturally happy your body language will show it.

Practice Gratitude

Being grateful for everything you have and for the things you want is important. Being grateful overwrites the negative feelings in your mind with positive ones.

Be grateful with enthusiasm.

I am grateful for the awesome people in my life!

I am grateful for list the amazing things you have

I am grateful for the constant opportunities I am given!

Start first thing in the morning and continue random times throughout the day. Repeat when going to sleep.

Focus On The Present

Focus on the present moment mentally and physically. With whatever it is we’re doing our mind tends to travel back in time to a distant memory or into the future.

We don’t live in the past or future. We only live the present moment and you need to take advantage of this.

No point predicting what the future is going to be if you’re going to ignore the present.

Focus on right now!

Do You Have A Purpose?

What is your purpose or true calling in life?

Increase your focus on that and take action. This may get you excited.

Upgrade Your Surroundings – Life Around You

In life you have to focus on yourself and the things around you. This includes your family, friends, job, hobbies. Maintaining or developing strong relationships with the people around you is important. Finding ways to have fun or more fun with your career can make you happier. Getting more involved with your passions and hobbies can do the same.
